I've been taking imipramine and xanax (for breakthrough episodes) for 20 years. Overall imipramine has worked for my anxiety and depression. For me the side-effects are minimal (except for the effects of dry mouth: big dentist bills over the years). If you've responded well to TCAs in the past it's certainly worth trying imipramine. If you do try it take it all at night as its fairly sedating. YMMV

Hope that helps,

Britt
