Hi Guy
I have been through exactly the same as you, but for a shorter period of time.
I don't see it as a coward's way out to kill yourself. That argument never made sense to me. Nor can you stay alive for the wife and kids if the torment is too great, even that powerful motivation to stay alive may not be enough. (I have a wife and kids.)
No, the reason that you don't kill yourself is because YOU ARE GOING TO GET BETTER. The suicide thing is just part of the illness, it triggers some hormone or whatever that make you want to kill yourself, it did the same to me. It's tremendously powerful, but its just a brain disfunction and it can and will be treated.
So take the fish oil and keep asking your doctor for better treatment, change doctors if you get no joy. But believe me, you WILL recover and the joy of having your wife and kids around when you get better will be the finest thing in the world.
Let us know how it goes on Friday.
