I'm currently taking generic methylphenidate 10mg t.i.d as an augmentation to my antidepressants (yes I'm on two). I'm not ADD, but I actually find that methylphenidate is actually calming as well as mood elevating. However the t.i.d. schedule is a bit roller-coastery. My psychiatrist and I are considering one of the controlled release formulations of methylphenidate (Concerta, Ritalin SR, Metadate ER, Metadate CD).
Does anyone have experience with these drugs? In particular I'd like to find out how long lasting these different drugs really are. I'm, in general, a hyper-metabolizer (I usually need larger than average doses of most psychopharmaceuticals), and would prefer trying the longest acting drug. Any experiences with other long-lasting stimulants would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Britt
