I feel like a zombie on newly prescribed Lexapro

Posted by ynotme37 on January 5, 2003, at 11:54:08

I have been on Lexapro for 3 days now, and I hate the way I feel. I have never been on anti-depressants before, so i have nothing to compare it to. My physician prescribed 10 mg. once a day. I take it in the morning, and about 1/2 hour after taking it, I feel horrible. My face is numb, I talk but it doesn't seem as though it is me talking. Everthing seems to be in slow motion, and I have absolutely no energy. I feel like a slug. As the day goes on, these symptoms do decrease some, but I still don't like the way I feel. Is this a normal way to feel when taking anti-depressants? I originally went to the doctor because I feel so stressed lately. I would rather feel stressful then feel like this. Would my decreasing the dose to 5mg, and then taking it before bed help with these side effects? Any input would be very helpful.
Thank you.
