Lexapro basics.

Posted by scoper on December 21, 2002, at 11:38:46

This message is directed to those who have recently started the new SSRI, Lexapro. I take it at 20mg. a day and I must admit that it has greatly improved my OCD problems. On the negative side of things, I am very spacy on it and I also feel anxious. However, I think that the Buspar that I take with it is actually adding to the problem. Just too much Serotonin. Especially in my case, since I have ADHD issues, which are not related strongly to Serotonin, but Dopamine instead. The higher the Serotonin goes, the lower Dopamine goes!

Remember that Lexapro is just Celexa with an isomer of the chemical structure removed synthetically. So, it just does the same thing as Celexa, but without some of the side effects. But, remember that it is stronger too, since it is more therapeutic than the other SSRI's. It may seem weaker than some of the others, but that is only due to its mildness and lack of side effects. What are the experiences with some of you guys concerning the side effects of Lexapro? I would particularly like to hear from someone that takes it along with a stimulant agent for ADHD/ADD. I would like to know what ADD agents combine nicely with this SSRI?

Scoper.
