In reply to just started lexapro/my first AD 2 1/2 weeks into, posted by deadbolt on December 12, 2002, at 21:30:39
Hi Deadbolt. I never took Lexapro, but I did take Celexa. I am in Canada, so I am still waiting for them to release Lexapro, once they do, I plan on going back on an AD.
My experience with Celexa, is that I took ativan prn (as needed). It helped alot. I don't know about the clonazepam, but I would think it shouldn't be a problem. I know that clonazepam stays in your system longer than lorazepam(ativan). I personally couldn't take clonazepam. It was a very scary experience for me. I will never go near that crap again. I only took .25, but wow, I had the worse panic ever, and thats pretty bad, then it just made me useless, took a good day to get out of my system. Maybe that is how sedatives work, but with ativan for some reason I get a very good feeling from it. I get relaxed and feel like I want to join the world again, when I am in an acute state of anxiety. If I take it when I am not, it really doesn't do much. Everyone is different, and I know some people swear by clonazepam. So whatever works for you. Talk to your doctor about it.
