Re Wellbutrin and Paxil

Posted by linkadge on December 13, 2002, at 7:53:56

It seems that you were responding to the paxil
well - asside for the side effects.
Wellburtin tends to treat certain people's depression and not others.

Paxil
-----
Tends to be better for anxiety and
very sad mood. Better for anger,
irritability, and innability to let
go of things.

Wellbutin
---------
For most not as effective for anxiety
and for some can worsen it. Not as good
for anger. Very good for people who lack
motivation or stamina to complete certain
tasks. It may make you feel more confident
in your ability to perform certain tasks.
May be of no use to those have ability of
letting go of certain things.

In general paxil is used more for typical
depression, and Wellbutrin is used for
atypical (generally sleep too much - eat
too much etc)

You could give Wellburin a little more time,
or you could change to another ssri like
Paxil with fewer side effects - I'm not sure
what there is available in Brazil but you
could ask if they have Prozac, Celexa, Zoloft
may be less sedating then Paxil.

Good Luck
