I've never had sore throats as a side-effect of this drug. I too feel like my metabolism is slower on this drug. I've been on it at least 6 months now; I take 60mgs per day. I gained a total of 20 lbs and there it stays -- I don't gain any more / I don't lose any. But this medication has helped me tremendously -- worth every pound!!
