Please help--question about correct dosage

My doctor in uk has no experience with treating mood disorders with the new anti-convulsants..
I currently take Depakote(controlled release) and Neurontin.
I take the depakote 3 times a day and the neurontin just twice a day..
I think my doc has got the dosage the wrong way round.
Should the neurontin be 3 times a day and depakote just twice?
Also after I explained to him that the Neurontin starts to leave the body after about 5 hours --he still insisted on having a blood test to see the level of it in my blood
