The only long-acting one I have tried was Concerta and I didn't like it that much, although I feel like I didn't give it a fair trial. Since I have never tried Dexedrine, my doc wants to try the XR version --Adderall -- first.

The best response I have ever gotten for ADHD symptoms from classical stimulants was from Focalin 2.5mg doses 4+x daily (higher single dosages triggered tics), and Adderall 5mg/day (but experienced too much residual anxiety). Dexedrine IR didn't help ADHD symptoms much, but helped daytime drowsiness better than anything else, and was actually somewhat anxiolytic. Ritalin LA was Ok, but was too expensive for its wavy releasing and responsiveness. Never tried Concerta.
