That's actually a decent rate of weight loss-- 1/2 pound a week is sustainable and healthy. If you want to accelerate it a bit, try adding a little weight training. Adding muscle boosts your metabolism and allows you to burn more calories, even at rest. Take a good look at what you're eating and make sure there aren't any hidden calories in dressings, sodas, etcetera and that your portions are the size you think they are.

But I don't think your rate of weight loss is worrisome. I lost fifteen to twenty pounds on Effexor myself, but it took a long time.
