Hi all,
I have been on a combination of lamictal (200mgs), clonezepam/knolopin (2mgs) and citalopram/celexa (30mgs) for several months to treat my state of depersonalisation and depression (this resulted from taking an ecstasy tablet in july last year- i developed many problems such as depression, anxiety, insomina etc. in the week afterwards, then later 24/7 depersonalisation- the worse of it all. I have previously been on mirtazapine, which did not help my depersonalisation at all, but helped the depression etc).
I started the knolopin and celexa first in december last year, and they both helped greatly with the depersonalisation, although i never got to the stage where i felt completely normal again. So i added lamictal in April this year, which has been found to help depersonalisation in some cases. Anyway, i slowly built up my dose and was on 200mgs for a couple of months, and I felt no improvement, only extreme tiredness when i woke in the morning. So i slowly came off it- decreasing over about 3 months. I have now stopped taking lamictal completely and am feeling some terrible withdrawal symptoms (or at least, that is what i think they are). I cannot think well at all with concentration and memory suffering (it is very hard for me to study- i have my final university exams this week), experience chronic fatigue throughout the entire day, have floaters in front of my eyes, and am generally feeling unwell. My depersonalisation has gotten slightly worse also. I am very annoyed, as i fear failing my exams consequently.
Has anybody known of anything like this before- is it the lamictal that is to blame? Does anybody know of these sorts of withdrawal symptoms occuring with lamictal?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
J.
