> Hi, You didn't mention anything about previous trials of Depakote or Lithium. Have you been on those without any success for mania? The advantage I have found with charting is if you feel yourself feeling unusally down and can't fine a reason for it you can look at the chart and see that you are in that part of your mood cycle that is a downer. If you feel that you have been unusally grouchy, elated, or hostile, you can see the connection there as well. That way you don't have to waste a lot of time going off on a lot of guilt trips about what you have said to others, etc., and can work on how to combat the problem times of your mood cycles and learn to anticipate them somewhat.
Hi Ritch,
Yep, I have been on both lithium and depakote. Funny now that you mention it. Lithium was the first drug I was put on 10 years ago and Depakote was the previous drug I was put on before now. Also have been on tegretol, zyprexa, seroquel(major blah on that one)and combinations of anti-depressants and mood stabilizers.
Thanks for the heads up on charting. After looking at the charts I think I may be rapid cycling also. Will let the doc see if she sees the same thing. Feel like a puppet and being jerked around by this bipolar.>
