No, i wouldn't worry about complications at all.
The only thing that may happen is drowsiness which is what you're after I believe.

I'm highly anxious and my body chuckled at my attempt to calm it with valerian tea after years of benzo use!
It does work for some though. If it doesn't try combining valerian with lemon balm (these are also available in tablet and tincture)I find valerian tea tastes like mold.
Calcium chelate and Magnesium are also effective
in a 2-1 ratio.
