I do have a psychiatrist who actually gave me a prescr. for 2mg of Klonopin the other day (after a huge fight over it which culminated in my descision to I finally to leave him and make an appointment with the other med. prescriber at the "Guidance Center" I have to go to --as I am on SSI/ medicaid so my options for a competent/caring Dr are rather slim to none).
He absolutely refused to even let me try the Xanax (and at first the Klonopin too, but finally gave in probably just to shut me up) as he claimed they were so addictive that Id have to be on them "for the rest of my life" and that it "wouldnt look good on record" for him to prescribe me both those meds together... whatever the hell that means. I cant even begin to describe how out of touch with me/my problems this guy is and how useless he has been in treating me (for example: Laughing/chuckling when I told him I could only see suicide as my future... I didnt think it was at all funny).
Anyway, the 2mg of Klonopin has not had nearly the calming, anti heart racing, anti-anger, anti-anxiety mood altering affect that .50mg of Xanax did for me (which btw I got a couple weeks ago when my roomate discovered hed had some lying around).
So you see, for me it certainly is worth the risk if I can somehow get something (Xanax) that is going to finally for once in my miserable life give me some relief to the hell Ive lived with forever.
