Hi there,
I'm faring well on this minimal 12.5mg dosage of lamictal, with little or no sign of a diminution of its effects. I'd agree that we are in a minority, and will in all likelyhood eventually need to tirate(probably not a great deal higher in my case though).
I have found this med. to be very helpful with anger issues as well as depression and anxiety, both of which have been pretty nasty and enduring (although less so the anxiety of late).
A sensible option in your case may be to consider the use of a benzo. such as klonopin, or even diazepam, as a short term measure- they will undoubtedly help with the irritability while you adjust to the lamictal.
If you find that your anger and anxiety problems persist despite an improvement in depression, neurontin might be worth considering as an add-on, allowing you to reduce/eliminate the benzo.Best wishes,
Col.
