Well, I personally never heard of anybody who went to the psych hospital and came out with anything good to say about it, if it worked for you, thats awesome. You are the one in a hundred person who had a good psychiatric hospital experience. More power to you.For most, even most suicidal people, they'd be best off avoiding psychiatric hospitals because they tend to be very demoralizing and depressing places. In fact, the one time I went (totally voluntary admission) I came out feeling probably the worst Id ever felt in the several years of severe depression. I didnt much care for it. I didnt much care for the "kindergarten" nature of it and didnt like knowing I was literally behind locked doors. I found it to make my depression much worse, just the environment was extremely depressing to me.
But to each his own and if it worked for ya, more power to you.
