Rick -
I tried Remeron 6 weeks to initial good high energy type A personality effect - only to lose out to depression, agitation, anger, disinhibition. This with 4.5 Klonopin. Was hyper on this regimen. In end I felt like I was taking maybe ritalin + Klonopin if I had to guess. That was 15 remeron + 4.5 klonopin. And I slept 8 hours awesome woke up type A that was the coolest thing about it.
My response pretty atypical I believe. I increased dose to 30 in a retrial 2 years later that went a similar course - but at 30 I developed the typical remeron effects sedation and hunger and depression to boot.
Course I repond to serotonnin agents and remeron is pretty mixed with strong s2 and s3 block so for someone who doesn't need a strong ssri like agent ... ?
oh I added zoloft later, 7.5-15 remeron + 25 - 50 zoloft. I found that 7.5 remeron OBLITERATED all 50 zoloft sexual side effects with FULL RETURN OF ANXIETY/DEPRESSION. best combo was 15 remeron + 50 zoloft but all inferior for me to 60 nardil. not a bad combo though if somebody doesn't want to mess with an maoi...
