I confess that i have been skeptical about
the ADHD hypothesis as a "mental disease";
But that is a matter quite distinct from
the analysis of Dr. Breggin's professional
background. If the latter is to be used
as an argument against his quackery practice,
my opinion is that some Board of Psychiatry
or the FDA should have the responsibility
or removing quacks from practice. I hold the
same view about Mormons and Scientologists
btw - if something is against the law then
it should be corrected.But this has not been done; and so it would
follow that quacks like Dr. Breggin are permitted
by law to practice malpractice. Therefore
the government should be sued.As for the facts, i don't know - statistics would
be nice e.g. is it true that SSRIs are very
difficult to withdraw from, or that they cause
suicidal tendencies because of impulse control
problems when taken? I don't know the facts.And so, i draw no conclusion.
