I can't stand that crap from medical doctors that don't have a clue. A degree and residency is no guaranty of competence. I have 2 friends from college that are complete morons and doctors. I wouldn't let them near me with a butter knife. Beer drinking OK, Surgey not OK.
My new doc is cool. She has two Mastiffs that sit in on the appointments and slober all over me. She listens and I listen. She is currently in the Amazon doing something weird? I Hope she makes it back, I am gonna need some refills. I respect her because she repsects me and understands that this isn't a personal weakness issue, residual wussiness or something else... this is physiological.
My best docs have been women. They tend to have better listening skills. Plus I would rather look at a woman for 1/2 an hour than a guy.
> My impression from the many doctors I've seen is that pain cannot be tolerated but I'll learn something that's good for me by suffering free-floating anxiety. Does fear tell us something's wrong? Well pain certainly does. A painful hip will make us limp so it's not damaged further. What lesson am I supposed to learn from unmitigated anxiety?
