Mitch -
This is defintely an ask-your-doctor-question. But at your current level of < 1 gram fish oil I wouldn't think there would be much of a risk. The risk would be higher if you have pre-disposing conditions, e.g cardiovascular, cerebrovascular, clotting or other blood issues, uncontrolled high blood pressure -- with the amount of increased risk varying among these conditions. But in most cases other than blood disorders I doubt there'd be an absolute contra-indication except perhaps for elderly people. (My elderly Dad had a stomach bleeding incident from taking both Coumadin and Aleve.) Again, ask your doctor.

I didn't know for sure if it was my meds or if it was the Flaxseed oil, but when I switched to Fish oils the diarrhea got reduced significantly. I am just taking the cheap 3:2 EPA/DHA stuff you can find anyplace. I am only taking a total of 800mg a day of combined EPA/DHA, so it was a relief to find that consumption of 3G or greater was only a concern for heavy metals. What I am curious about is that I take only 250mg of Depakote every day for bipolar. I know that Depakote has an anticoagulant effect. I don't think I saw VPA mentioned in there. I have a warning label on my bottle of Depakote about taking it with aspirin and other anticoagulants, could a Depakote, fishoil reaction be possible at higher doses?
