Adrafinil, Modafinil vs Antidepressants

Hi all.
I notice that quite a few people here have tried or are on Adrafinil or Modafinil (Provigil).
Probably most of you on these medications have tried SSRIs or other antidepressants as well.
In terms of raw, antidepressant power how do they compare? Is someone with severe depression likely to succeed with Adrafinil or Modafinil montherapy?
