Hi Ben,
no chance you're near DC--are you? I saw a pain doc there who seemed very knowledgeable and highly motivated to help. He thinks I have a "fibromyalgia spectrum" disorder. I have chronic pain. For me... he suggested effexor first, which I vetoed. Can't tolerate. His next choices were zanaflex and zonegran, followed by topamax. I have not tried these. I'm doing OK on imipramine for the time being. You might want to check them out. I know zanaflex is an anti-spasmodic. I'm not sure if i'm allowed to name docs on the page.
