Hello,
My pdoc just gave me a sample of Geodon, and I'm scared to try it. I have been diagnosed as BPII (a diagnosis which I am slowly beginning to accept is true.)I have tried practically every medication out there with no success -- either very bad side effects, or they "crash out" on me after working for a short time.
I've tried Lamictal, which didn't help. I've tried Lithium, which put me to sleep. And I've tried all the SSRIs, SNRIs, stimulants, benzos, etc. etc. Actually, I am able to tolerate small doses of Klonapin, and I take 0.5 mg. daily.
Here are my questions:
1. Has anyone heard of Geodon working as a mood stablizer (my pdoc said it can work as an "anti-cycler" with an antidepressant effect.)
2. Is it activating or sedating?
3. I've tried Zyprexa and Risperdal, both of which made me feel extremely drugged out, fatigued and agitated, and a bit disassociated. Should I worry that Geodon will have a similar effect?
4. Does anyone have good things to say about it?
5. I guess I should ask for negative reports as well!
6. Lastly, is it worth a try for someone like me who is treatment resistant/med-sensitive?
Thanks in advance for your help!!
Cindy
