Hi, Jane:

Well,I did use Wellbutrin for about a month, but I think, when I started to use it, I was in a such a deep depression that adding WB made me really agitated and panicky. I was jittery and sleepless and had the worst anxiety attacks I've ever had, so I stopped the WB and went back to prozac, which works pretty well for me. However, I gain weight on all SSRIs, so I had to stop the prozac because of that side effect and the doc recommended Effexor because it (supposedly) has lower sexual side effects and less chance of weight gain. We'll see...I've seen plenty of anecdotal evidence that people have gained weight and had sexual side effects from Eff., too.

Right now, it's hard to tell how well the Eff is doing because I'm recovering from a bad case of sciatica (inflamed sciatic nerve due to a back injury) and I am a walking COCKTAIL of drugs: effexor, neurotonin, high doses of naprosyn, and Vicodin to sleep at night.

I'll keep you posted. Wellbutrin does work well for a lot of people, and I would have liked to use it, but it was too agitating for me at the time.

Good luck...good to hear from you!
