First of all, drinking a lot of caffeine on a MAOI is a big no-no! And if anxiety is anywhere in your host of problems it takes just one cup to increase body tension and aggravate symptoms. When I was on Parnate in the past for a period of years (and am now trying to adjust to it once again) I too had what felt like an electric current or shock for a nano-second. I also wondered what it was, although I felt fine otherwise and had no health problems. When I slowly tapered off of it years ago, these shocks increased in frequency and intensity and seemed obviously to be a part of the withdrawal. I came to my own conclusion, although possibly incorrect, that my dosing before was too spread out causing dips in my therapeutic blood level (and thus mild withdrawal symptoms). Just a thought.
Would also like to hear from others about this, because if I ever get up to a therapuetic dose again I'm sure I'll re-experience this as well.
