Thanks for responding. Do I remember correctly from the archive that you had pain relief on topamax? I'd be very interested to know what worked for you.
I'm getting some relief on desipramine. I'm told that neurontin is the "gold standard" for the kind of pain I've got, but i was profoundly dopey on 100 mg. I can ride out side effects if they'll pass, but my doc thought so much sedation on so low a dose didn't bode well for me reaching a therapeutic dose.
I have chronic vaginal pain (vulvodynia) that many think is just another form of fibromyalgia. I also suffer from chronic tension headache and some minor jaw stuff. The treatment they describe talks about "retraining" misfiring nerves.
My pain doc suggested (after zanaflex) topamax, gabitril, and trileptal in that order. I'd love to get your advice, keeping in mind that I'm most concerned about sedation. I seem to get it on EVERYTHING. Oddly, I tolerate desipramine just fine. If only it worked a little better.
Thank you!
Lia
