I don't mean to scare you but rjk (you can read some of his archived messages) experienced a severe reaction when he combined both Effexor and Remeron.

I would recommend that you cut your dose of Effexor a little, this can sometimes reduce the apathy that you feel. otherwise you could possibly try Wellbutrin ( aka Zyban ). This is alot more activating than some AD's, although I'm not sure if it still has the properties to make you feel apathetic.

Anyway good luck, sometimes it might be better to feel emotionally numb on Effexor, than to come off and feel like shit, trust me the withdrawal is harsh ( and I only took it for a week!). If you really want to stop taking the effexor though, I recommend that you start taking 10mg of Prozac, as this counteracts the effects of the withdrawal (it has a longer half life ).
