Gabitril

I ask my doctor to switch me off of klonopin and onto another benzo due to memory and depression problems caused by it. She wants to put me on Gabatril. Never heard of it. Is it fast acting like a benzo would be or do i have to wait for it to titrate into my blood stream. Thanks in advance for any replies.
