5htp Or SSRI's

Im still trying to figure out if either or is more sufficient. I was on zoloft 50mg, which did keep me above water. Now im on 50mg of 5htp, and doesnt seem to be as powerful, but less side effects. Anyone have any experiences. Or how about l-tryptophan 1000-2000 mg a night.
