I think that your doc is adding the Lithium to augment the Effexor. Try the lithium + Effexor for at least a few weeks to see how it goes. Then if it doesn't work out, maybe try an SSRI.
I have been on Celexa for 2 and 1/2 years with very good results. It is the only psych med I take. I am on 40 mg.
