Nikki, you say you have been through the tricyclics. As you seem to be in the UK, have you tried Lofepramine? I have tried Cipramil, Prozac and Efexor for my depression, all of which made me worse (lethargic, exhausted, apathetic). My GP is now trying Lofepramine but I haven't a clue if it's going to work any better than the SSRIs. KNow anything about it?
As far as Celexa goes, I was on it for two weeks at a time when I was really anxious, and I just couldn't tolerate the added anxiety. I literally didn't sleep for a week. I also think it gave me tinnitus (that's why I'm not allowed on SSRIs any more). I went on it a second time when I was less anxious and it seemed to make me feel better for a few weeks, before I went back to the state I always get to with SSRIs - sleeping hours and hours and still needing more, not caring about anything, losing friends and interests. But if you haven't had this kind of problem with SSRI before then that shouldn't happen with this one (my mother has been on Cipramil for years and says it's ideal for her - gives her more energy and no bad side effects).
