I currently take Topamax due to Bipolar and came across this on the website listed below. It saying that the study was discontinued due to unfavourable side effects is kind of scary regardless of what you are taking it for. I am not a subscriber to the website below (It's $70 to join.) but does anyone know anything about Topamax and the clinical trials for obesity? What were the unfavavaourable side effects that were too bad for weight loss but not for Bipolar?
Here is the info taken from:
http://www.obesity-news.com/inuse.htmTopiramate (Topamax)
Note. Topiramate is currently used for seizure disorders, and is not approved for weight loss. Phase 3 weight loss trials were recently discontinued because of an unfavorable side effect profile.
