Is anybody sweaty on Lomictal? I have the Answer!

Posted by DanO on June 17, 2002, at 1:53:30

I just posted this earlier, but I thought i would put this in it's own thread.

It took me 8 months to narrow down the factors that cause sweats, and hot flashes while on lomictal, and there are 3 of them.

1. Caffine: This is the first I discovered, Caffine Interacts with lomictal, or with your metabolism. Either way It is one of the fastest ways to break into a sweat.

2 Sugar/Simple Carbohydrates: This one was a bit trikier to discover. I Found this out when i ran out of pop, and did't bother to buy any more fore a week, It was one of my first good weeks, and It was Decaff pop too. The next week I bought more and felt terrible, lesson learned. The triky part of this one is that Starch, and other non-whole grains, turn into sugar once eaten. Ever suck on a cracker?

3 Cold: This I learned a campout in june. It was 40 degrees and i wasn't dressed warm enough. I had a terrible time even though I stayed away from Caffine and simple carbs. The next day I thought about why I felt the way I did and realized that the body burns more food to keep warm, like wood in a funace. I figuered the cold was altering my metabelism so I put on long underwear. Boy did I feel better!

So I urge everyone on lomictal to try this for one day, cut all caffine, simple carbs, and stay warm. See how you feel. It Can't Hurt!

My meds are now too strong, and I am lowering them, I spend the day feeling great, with no hotflashes or sweats. I hope you can too!
