> I quit Zyprexa 5mg almost two weeks ago. I was taking it along with Nardil 45mg and Lithium 600mg. I am now on Lamictal 25mg and Risperdal 1mg. Soon after quitting the Zyprexa I began having obsessive thoughts (trying to remember peoples names, places etc. etc. over and over) and my sleep became less and less each night. I haven't slept for five days now. The Risperdal was prescribed mainly to help come cleanly off of the Nardil and Lithium and to help the obsessive thoughts and sleeplessness. I will quit it in three weeks if all goes as planned. The obsessive thoughts have stopped, but my mind is just constantly awake. I was thinking about taking a Xanax but I don't know if it is safe with all the residual and current drugs in my system. Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you fall asleep? What is safe to take to fall asleep? The Risperdal is at a low dose but does not seem to be doing the trick for sleep. Would like some suggestions.

If you can't get to your doc until Monday at earliest, you could try some Bendadryl (OTC). Even when I was really hypomanic I found that 50mg at bedtime could really reboot the sleep mechanism. Also, you might consider just a *tad* of Zyprexa (1.25mg, i.e.), to help you out.
