> After four weeks at 180 mg of Prozac, I have just suffered a major setback. Something on my job triggered it -- but still I feel almost as bad as a did before I ever took Prozac. I have that horrible unrelenting pain in my heart, the emotionally sick pit in my stomach and my head is pounding. I cry all the time and just don't know if I will make it through another day of work. Do I need to augment my medication regimen or switch to something else entirely!! Please help, I am really feeling quite down. Thank you.

> SarahMarieHi. I have heard of, and experienced myself, the prozac blues- where it stops working and you feel worse than ever. Athough in your case- since you were on prozac such a short time- it just may not be working for you and you either need another a/d, or you need to stop taking another med that you are also taking with the prozac. For me, prozac worked very well, then just stopped. I felt worse than ever. At that point my Dr. wanted to up my meds, but I insisted on switching to another a/d and that really helped me. Another thing, some people are much more sensitive, and react differently to the meds when there is more than one med taken. When I was on Buspar for anxiety I was OK, when I was on prozac alone I was OK. But when I was on Prozac and Buspar together there was some reaction in my body that made me miserable. Crying, sobbing uncontrollable sadness. I was more depressed when my anti-anxiety med was paired up with an a/d. Each of us is different. Some of us have strange reactions to a combo of meds.
