Benzodiazepines are fine for short-term use but they are quite addictive.Despite that some people spend their life on them.Non-addictive drugs include Buspar. It may be of value but probably only in quite high dose.It may take a week or more to get any relief.Overall I have not been too impressed by Buspar.SSRIs like Prozac are frequently recommended and quite good.Cognitive therapy with a psychologist may help.A natural medication that may help is omega-3 fish oil-20% of the brain is fish oil but we dont eat much fish any more.Have a look at www.omega3.20megsfree.com
