In reply to Adderall chemical property compared to Ephedrine, posted by Christina on May 22, 2002, at 19:30:33
> Does anyone know how these are similar? I was reading a profile of types of drugs and this report linked Adderall, Dexedrine, Cocaine and Ephedrine as one "drug." I know they're all stimulants, but don't they have vastly different chemical properties?

> I'm confused.Yes, all of these drugs are similiar. Adderall is basically a Rx version of these drugs. They are all "speed" in on way or another and have the same side effects. They are very damaging to the heart and the rest of the body and are also very addictive. My doctor used to prescribe me adderall and I became addicted within weeks and I know a lot of other people at school that are the same way. we were all prescribed it for ADHD or ADD. The key word you are looking for in any of these drugs is "amphetimine." They all contain in. That is the active chemical. ephedra and ephedrine, I do not know if they are the same thing, but I do know that they have proven to give people heart attacks and strokes. I would stay away from any of the drugs you listed above!!
