Well desipramine increases norepinephrine... so the only thing besides a sedation effect I can think of might be a pressor effect (like too much coffee) where during exercise your heart might beat faster or blood pressure go higher than it did before, making it in essence a harder workout. Maybe check your pulse and if you can your blood pressure.

You would have to adjust the intensity of exercise or decrease the desipramine dose if that was it -- and your doc would want to know.

Probably totally unrelated...
