In reply to Wellbutrin Major Increased Dreaming??, posted by jay on April 24, 2002, at 15:49:55
Been a WB user for about four years now. As I have also taken other psychoactive meds in adjunct therapy with my AD, I cannot conclusively attest that WB causes me to have more vivid, dreams, but I do indeed have them. WB does have some affect on your sleep, as it can cause insomnia (due to its pyscho-stimulant activity). It may cause more, shorter sleep cycles, like I have. Because I almost always wake up after the dream phase stage of sleep w/o going back to the begining of the sleep cycle, I am much more likely to remember what I was dreaming (because I just woke up!) I believe that the PDR does mention something about more vivid dreams, but I haven't read it recently (it's only 10 feet behind me now). However, there are scads of data (even through this site) on WB on the net. Put it this way, the AD effects of WB far outweigh any problems I have from its side effects. Hope that helps.
