In reply to Depakote, BCP and menstrual bleeding?, posted by Chloe on April 24, 2002, at 20:21:09

But since adding depakote (My gyn thinks this is the culprit anyway) about 3 months ago I have had some break thru bleeding. And then two weeks ago, I just started bleeding excessively with clots, but no cramping. I am beginning to really get weak now. Walking to the mailbox makes me out of breath, and I am in good shape.

Ok, my Gdoc wants to put me on a higher dose birth control pill, or so I heard from her nurse on my answering machine. I am not keen on this. I don't want to try another rounds of pills. She basically thinks I need more estrogen to keep me from bleeding. Does anyone have any experience with Evening Primrose Oil (and Gamma Linolenic Acid)? What dose? Any bad effects? I am taking 1-2 tbs flaxseed oil(primarily Linoleic acid) and having great benefit...Please, anyone with info on Evening primrose oil?
Thanks
Chloe
