I used to feel my EffexorXr kick in about 1 hour after taking it each morning. I also took Ritalin, so maybe I was just feeling that.

I take Celexa now at bedtime, so I sleep through any "kick-in". I take Adderal and desipramine in two doses during the day and I definately feel something with that. It is a heightening of mood, a slight lift of anhedonia most days, definate improvement in focus - sometimes inducing hyperfocus which is paradoxically distracting...

Prozac would cause a marked nausea with a heightened alertness, Zoloft would cause a marked nausea with a foggy-headed benzo-like feeling followed with a pot of coffee zang a few hours later. However, when I am very depressed the "kick-in" is still there-it just isn't pleasant.
