I was given Tegretol as a mood stabilizer to help w. Bipolar II plus comorbid panic disorder/social phobia (this, more or less, has been my diagnosis).
When I first started Tegretol, there weren't that many mood stabilizers to choose from (really only Lithium, Depakote and Tegretol). I took my doc's advice on it, and wasn't sorry.
Good luck w. your "situation", and hoping the Tegretol helps you.
