> Hi John,
> I was hoping I could ask you a few questions. It was mentioned that you are taking serzone and I am interested in it. Here is a little of my background and what I am looking to do.

> I have been on some remeron in hopes of weaning off the TCA(nortryptline), but I am odd in that meds, even at small doses, hit me hard. That is why my pameolr is only 50 mg, any more and the side effects are unbearable. So, I have backed way off the remeron(but the knock out it gave me was oh so good). I guess I am best described as unipolar with a panic/anxiety lead into depression. First time I was treated was when I was 27. I know I had some depression before then, but I was great for over 7 years. I guess one never knows when it will strike. I also take 300 mg of lithobid twice daily and 7.5 mg of tranxene(a BZD) at night. I really feel the pamelor is what is screwing up my body when I work out(aerobic). It feels as though the side effects are amplified and then my sleep gets off kilter. The lithobid may also cause this too. I am looking to get on some meds that will help me help myself and that is by excercise. I feel real good during and right after, but I slowly go done hill mood wise. Thanks for any information. I am wondering if there is something that may replace the lithobid for me, but that may also be finding an AD, like serzone, that can do it for me. Take care,
> JohnjHi Johnj,
I'm afraid I don't have a good answer for you. I'm diagnosed with bipolar II disorder. Serzone seems to be a fringe AD (you don't see too many people using it, but it is a good AD for many). The 1st time I took it was without any mood stabilizers and it made me feel extremely fatigued. With my mood stabilizers (Lamictal and Topamax), the medicine does not make me fatigued and has good AD properties. Our bodies are so complex and different, I don't think I could really venture a guess as to how you would respond to swapping out Lithium for Serzone; these are 2 totally different medicines.
