> P.L.Yes, Effexor withdrawal gave me headaches. I don't know about the emotional sensitivity, but I had headaches, vertigo, a feeling of being disconnected from the world (that was really a weird feeling), nausea and anxiety.
It was like hell when I cut the dose from 300 to 75 within 4 days. But, adding Remeron worked like a miracle! It not only did stop the withdrawal symptoms, but also gave an antidepressant effect no other AD had given.
But that's not the end! I stayed on 37.5 effexor and 30 mg Remeron for one month. Then, I decided to quit effexor altogether. But those horrible withdrawals came back! So, I cut the pill into two, stayed there for 4 - 5 days, then to four and again stayed there for 4 - 5 days. Every time I cut the dose, even on the very very tiny dose of almost 9 mg/day, I still felt the withdrawals.
It is one week now, and I am completely off, but that vertigo and some nausea is still coming and going.
I gave the remaining Effexor pills to my school's infirmary! I don't want to ever see Effexor again:)
Anyway, I hope things go better with you. BUT, I think adding Remeron may help decrease the withdrawal symptoms. You may taper and quit Effexor, while on Remeron, and then taper and quit Remeron too, if necessary.
