In reply to How to wake up From *Zombified* Any Idea?, posted by RhainyC on March 28, 2002, at 8:46:41
Rhainy, I'm not a morning person & feel groggy when I awake. I've always been groggy - it's not meds that do it for me. My Mom used to have to literally drag me from bed sometimes for school.
I work varying shifts (part-time) & sometimes have to work early in the morning. When I went to university a couple of years ago, I seemed to be unlucky & math classes were always first thing in the morning too.
I found if I could get my adrenaline going, I'd wake up quick. I'd rush myself about & the sheer idea of having to be somewhere on time would get me all pumped up. Now when I get to wake up more leisurely on mornings I don't work, I can still drag on forever. But if I wash my face right away, & start preparing like I've got a deadline to make, I'll wake up fast.
It's that "flight or fight" response from adrenaline that does it for me. I don't enjoy waking up in a rush at all, but I find that I'd rather wake up & accomplish something than to look back & realise that I wasted the morning instead.
