In reply to Can only *25* mg of Lamictal cause severe anxiety?, posted by Janelle on March 30, 2002, at 23:37:55
I don't think 25 mg of Lamictal itself would. But the medicine combo might.I don't know. Effexor wasn't my AD. It made me agitated. (But it is a good anti-depressant).
The Depakote should help calm the seas substantially. A Neurontin add-on may help you out too. Just a few thoughts.

> I have been on EffexorXR 150 mg, Klonopin 1mg and Zyprexa 2.5 mg and a couple of weeks ago my pdoc added in Lamictal. I started titrating up very slowly (which is a MUST with Lamictal) but as the days wore on I grew more and more anxious, to the point where I thought I'd explode, the thoughts were racing, my head was swimming, I wanted to jump out of my skin, do anything to shut my mind off. I'm sensitive to meds (apparently!) but I'm wondering does it sound possible that such a relatively *low* dose of Lamictal could crank up the anxiety so high, or could it have been in combo with the EffexorXR?
