At least that is what someone I know who was having anxiety was given Buspar for!

Buspar is an antianxiety medication. But, it only helps generalized anxiety disorder. It does nothing for panic attacks, PTSD, OCD, or any other phobia. However, in people with PTSD, it can worsen that condition. If someone is on Buspar, and gets moody with a dosage increase, or anxious, then they have an elevated S2 receptor. If they can tolerate this medication well, then they don't have any PTSD problems. Understand? As to the other part of your question, the ways around the weight gain. A few things. 1.) Eat smaller, more frequent meals. 2.) Cut carbohydrates down. 3.) Start a good excercise regimen. 4.) Cut out late night meals and snacks.
