> Help! I've tried several anti-depressants (zoloft, serzone, wellbutrin, remeron)& the only class that seems to work for me are the SSRI's, However, I can't live with the side-effects. I've been on Celexa for 15 weeks, yet still have diarrhea. I've tried all OTC meds available without success. My PCP and psych. haven't been able to help. Does anyone know of any other remedies:herbal, homeopathic, prescriptions, that work? I'm willing to try anything. I can't keep switching medications, been there done that. Thanks
Hi Nala,I have the same problems with SSRI's, too. There has only been *one* thing that has worked for me and allowed me to take them and that is by adding on a small dose of nortriptyline. They come in 10mg caps. With low-dose Celexa, 10mg of nortrip. usually would quell all of the GI distress. With Zoloft, it would require 20-30mg though. Elavil (amitriptyline) is more effective for controlling it-but has a LOT more side effects than the nortripytline.
hope this helps,
Mitch
