Effexor withdrawal again!

Posted by turalizz on March 25, 2002, at 14:10:01

Hi,
I'm trying to come off of Effexor 37.5 mg/day!

Although the dose is very low, it is still an awful experience. First I cut the dose to 1/2 of 37.5, and stayed there for two days. I had a weird, vertigo-like feeling when I moved my head. First day, it was awful, but the second day was better! Then, I chopped the 37.5 mg tablet into four! (You can imagine how funny a scene it is! Me trying to cut that little damn thing into four!) Today I got 1/4 of 37.5 mg, and that weird thing is happening again.
How long will it go? I cannot cut it into smaller pieces :)

On alt.depression.support.medication, someone said he had exactly the same withdrawal syndrome on 37.5 mg/day, but he prefers to stay on that dose. I do not! I want to get rid of it completely! Has anyone been there? What should I do? Just wait? Will it go away?

Help please!

Thanks,

cem
